We love coffee at Forty Five, and that's why we've chosen a deliciously smooth and well rounded El-Salvador bean. But this is no ordinary bean...

These beans come from farms that use shade-growing which means that the plants are shaded by other crops such as banana and pepper trees. This not only improves the quality of the coffee beans, but also increases the productivity and profitability for the farmer and helps to preserve local ecosystems. Farms that use shade-growing typically have 15 times more wildlife that those that use other methods. These farms earn the Rain Forest Alliance Certification - a guarantee that sustainable practices are in place. For the farmers this means a prosperous future and an improved quality of life, for you it means great-tasting coffee.

Tea.....

Our house tea comes from DJ Mr Scruff's Make us a brew range - and it's a full-bodied English breakfast organic tea, from Assam, the birthplace of Indian tea and the largest tea growing area in the world. The Assam valley lies 120 miles east of Darjeeling and floods every year during the monsoon turning the whole valley into a giant greenhouse. The climate, rich soil and indigenous tea plants give Assam teas their characteristic strong, full-bodied taste and liquor. Anyway, it makes a great proper morning cup of tea, which we are more than happy to drink all day long.

We have a wide range of other teas and infusions including earl grey, mint + chilli, forest fruits, white tea, green tea, yerba mate...

All our milk is organic and from a cow or a soya bean.
